Council OKs Zoning Change for Adult Day Care

In a brief meeting Wednesday, city council approved a zoning change that will allow an adult day care center to open in Chesterfield and several construction bids.

Plans for an adult day care center in Chesterfield can move ahead now that city council has approved a zoning change.  The change, which was unanimously approved, allows day care facilities in the Four Seasons development at the corner of River Valley Drive and Olive Boulevard. Lutheran Adult Day Services plans to get a building permit to refurbish the interior of what used to be Denmark Travel and turn it into a day care service.  Art Sommer, owner of Lutheran Adult Day Services, said he hopes to open the day care in April. He previously told Patch plans for the facility include installing a sports bar and an outdoor patio. City council is expected to vote on a zoning proposal Wednesday that would allow an adult day care center to open at Olive Boulevard and River Valley Drive.

An adult day care center could open in Chesterfield, pending a city council vote. City council is expected to vote Wednesday on a zoning proposal that would permit the center to open in the Four Seasons development on the southwest corner of Olive Boulevard and River Valley Drive. Lutheran Adult Day Services is hoping to refurbish the interior of what used to be Denmark Travel and turn it into a day care service, said Aimee Nassif, planning and development services director for the City of Chesterfield. Art Sommer, owner of Lutheran Adult Day Services, said that if the proposal is approved, he will start construction immediately. His plan is to open in April.
