Spotlight Productions is a community theater company offered by Rockwood School District’s Community Education Department. Auditions are April 20-21 for the summer production; appointments scheduled starting March 4.
Spotlight Productions managers announced auditions for the 2013 summer production, The Little Mermaid Jr., for 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 20, and from 2 to 4 p.m. April 21, at Selvidge Middle School in Ballwin. The group is seeking more than 50 cast members, aged 6 to 18, to play the Disney characters of Ariel, Chef Louis, Flounder, Prince Eric, Sebastian and Ursula, in addition to the chorus lines needed for the production. Chesterfield theater company Stages St. Louis will produce its 27th Season in 2013 and will be holding local auditions Jan. 23- 26. The 2013 Season includes Always… Patsy Cline (May 31–June 30), Legally Blonde, The Musical (July 18- Aug. 19), and My Fair Lady (Sept. 6 – Oct. 6) at the Robert G. Reim Theatre in Kirkwood. FOX 2 KTVI sponsored a scaled down version of Idol auditions at Chesterfield Mall, offering one lucky vocalist the chance to fly to Houston for the last official casting opportunity for the 11th season of the popular television show.
When an estimated 10,000 hopeful vocalists lined up at the Scottrade Center in June for the first casting call of the 11th season of American Idol, they didn't know they would get a second chance to impress the judges. Wednesday morning, FOX 2 KTVI gave local singers another shot at trying out for the televised talent show. Each performed 30 seconds of a song in front of three judges. Y98 radio personality Taylor J, St. Louis singer-songwriter Erin Bode and FOX 2 morning news anchor Randi Naughton listened carefully and took notes as fewer than 100 performers took their turns on a small stage on the ground floor of Chesterfield Mall.
