Suburban South Roundup: Parkway Central Tennis Doing Well in Postseason

The school made it to the final four in the team tournament which will be played Thursday in Springfield, MO.

Patch takes a look at the latest news and notes from the Suburban South Conference, including the postseason highlights. Baseball The 2011 season is over for all Suburban South Conference baseball and as no league team won a district title. Seckman High School, which went undefeated in the Suburban South in baseball, came within a run of capturing the Class 4 District 2 championship. The Jaguars defeated Northwest, 14-10, in the first round with a five-run sixth inning. Collin Edwards had a home run and four RBIs, Trey Meier also had a homer and Tyler Bilbrey had three hits and three runs batted in to pace Seckman. Edwards and Bilbrey also had big games in a 12-2 win over Windsor in the semifinals. Edwards had four more RBIs and Bilbrey …

Suburban West Roundup: Marquette Loses Heartbreaker in Tournament's First Round

The 10-inning game against Eureka ended in a loss for the Mustangs.

Patch takes a look at the latest news and notes from the Suburban West Conference, including the postseason highlights. Girls Soccer Three Suburban West Conference soccer teams and one Suburban West baseball team captured district championships last week. Northwest, Lindbergh and Lafayette high schools were all victorious in soccer. Northwest won the Class 3 District 1 title with wins over Poplar Bluff (4-1) and Seckman (3-1). Kylee Hamilton and Jessica Mess scored goals in the championship game. There was also an own goal. Lindbergh won the Class 3 District 2 championship in dramatic fashion. The Flyers, who were seeded fourth, had shutout wins over Mehlville (2-0) and top-seeded Cor Jesu (1-0) as goalkeeper Nina Tzianos was able to shut …

Suburban West Roundup: Spring Postseason in Full Motion

Baseball There was a lot of talk in the preseason among Suburban West Conference baseball coaches on what kind of record it would take to win the league in 2011, especially with the new format which includes back-to-back games against all eight teams in the conference. "I thought maybe a 10-6 record might win it," Lindbergh High School coach Darin Scott said. Parkway South High School coach Adam Stahl concurred. "I thought five or six losses might win it," Stahl said. "I never expected it to go the way it did with the caliber of teams in this conference, which I think is the toughest in the entire state of Missouri." Parkway South got off to a great start in the league, and overall, and defended its title with a pair of wins last week …
