The fight involved adults and broke out at the recreation center on May 9 following a basketball game.
Police were called to the West County YMCA last week after a fight broke out following a basketball match. Chesterfield Police said the May 9 incident involved adults and began with an argument over a "sporting disagreement" that escalated when an unknown subject pushed once of the victims in the chest. The scuffle resulted in some minor bruises, Police said, and is being investigated as a case of assault. Chesterfield Police have identified the suspect, who is likely to face felony drug possession charges.
Chesterfield Police are searching for a 28-year-old male subject who checked out of a local hotel room and left behind narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Police said the staff at the Homewood Suites in Chesterfield reported the incident after discovering several “suspicious items” in his room on May 4. The drugs have been turned over to a crime lab to for testing and identification. The subject in the incident has been identified, police said, but he is not yet in custody. Tempers were flaring in the area over issues ranging from cell phones to cancelled trips.
Tempers were flaring across Chesterfield last week after police reported four cases of assault that started out as verbal arguments. The arguments ranged over issues from cell phones to cancelled trips, but none of the cases involved any serious injuries. Details on the incidents were reported in the Chesterfield Police Department’s weekly crime log. The case involves a Chesterfield business and is under active investigation by police.
A former employee of a Chesterfield business may have illegally downloaded sensitive information just prior to resigning from his job last month. The case is being actively investigated by the Chesterfield Police, who said the incident occurred sometime from April 18-21 in the 16000 block of Swingley Ridge Road. The suspect in the case of electronic tampering is listed as a 48-year-old male. Police described the information taken by the man as “client data” belonging to the company. Police declined to release further details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

The victim said he was home at the time, but did not hear anything.
A Chesterfield man who left his front door unlocked had cash and jewelry stolen from his home, despite the fact that he was there at the time of the burglary. Police said they suspect the burglar entered the house in the 1500 block of Candish Lane through the front door since it had been left open and there were no signs of forced entry. According to the victim, the sneaky thief entered his house sometime between 3 and 5 p.m. April 29. The victim told police he did not hear anything at the time, but later noticed jewelry and cash had been taken.
