Chesterfield Police To Participate in Seat Belt Enforcement Campaign

The statewide "Click It or Ticket" campaign lasts through June 5.

Chesterfield Police are participating in a statewide effort to ensure drivers are buckling up. This year's "Click It or Ticket" campaign kicked off Monday and lasts through June 5. According to a news release from the Missouri Department of Transportation, more than 200 law enforcement agencies acoss the state are taking part in the campaign.  Missouri's seat belt usage is below the national average, the release states. The national average is 85 percent, but Missouri seat belt usage remains about 76 percent. Teens and pick-up drivers are even less likely to buckle up, at 66 and 61 percent, respectively. St. Louis County, Chesterfield Police to Enforce Aggressive "Click it or Ticket" Campaign

Departments join effort by Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety to get more motorists to buckle up and to save lives.

Buckle up. That’s the advice the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety has for motorists who will be hitting the roads this weekend.  St. Louis County, Chesterfield Police and other local police departments are teaming up with the Missouri State Highway Patrol to implement an aggressive “Click It or Ticket” campaign beginning today. The coalition, which consists of local, county and state law enforcement agencies, members of the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDot) and several other local groups, held a news conference today to make the announcement.
