Town and Country based Charter Communications is hosting a job fair Tuesday, Jan. 8. The company plans to hire approximately 100 employees. Most will work in the call center located in Town and Country Commons, near the intersection of Highway 141 and Clayton Road. The job fair is 11:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Sheraton Westport Chalet, 191 Westport Plaza in Maryland Heights. As previously reported by Patch, this news comes after Charter's October announcement that the company was relocating its corporate headquarters from Town and Country to Connecticut. Chesterfield Valley’s Sonic serves up burgers that surpass other St. Louis area Sonics. But why?
When asked what my favorite fast food place is, I don't hesitate to answer: a Sonic Drive-In in a city with a population of 15,000 or less. The best fast food in America is found in small towns, and that is especially true for Sonic. Employees never know when their aunt, schoolmate or fellow church member will pull in and order a burger and fries. I have always found the Sonic food in Effingham, IL or Fulton or Union, MO a little better than at St. Louis area Sonics. There is one exception: the Sonic on Chesterfield Airport Road. Originally the Chesterfield Sonic was not only a company-owned store, but also a training ground: new managers and employees would learn the ropes there before leaving for other Sonics. Never having to say your sorry is not necessarily good for business.
It can be tough for some people to say "sorry." I would have changed banks a long time ago if I weren't afraid my direct deposit would get screwed up. My problem has nothing to do with the low interest rates or the cookies in the lobby that come from Costco. No, it's that no one with the bank would use the word "sorry." I started to get monthly fees despite having a "free" checking account. I went in and spoke to my "personal banker." After 10 minutes, she decided that I had indeed been overcharged and said the charges would be removed. Then, she asked if there was anything else she could do for me.
