Wiegand Foundation Mardi Gras Event Sold Out

The festivities will take place local sculptor Don Wiegand's home and studio in Chesterfield Valley.

Original story: The Wiegand Foundation is hosting a night of “revelry and romance” tonight in celebration of Fat Tuesday at the home and studio of Chesterfield sculptor Don Wiegand. The event will feature wine sampling, creole food, music and entertainment and party-goers are encouraged to dress for the occasion with colorful Mardi Gras masks and attire. Fox2: Chesterfield Artist Facing Foreclosure on Historic Studio

"Spirit of Hope" Sculptor Don Weigand is asking for the public's help in keeping the local landmark from being auctioned off on Dec. 5

(KTVI) -  A St. Louis man who has given his time and money to help honor members of the military now needs the public’s help so he can continue his work. Don Weigand is a sculptor who has created and handed out spirit of hope bronze awards for nearly a decade. They honor military members and others who exhibit the USO spirit of the late comedian Bob Hope. Wiegand used his own money to finance his nonprofit foundation. But his property in Chesterfield is in foreclosure and is set to be auctioned December 5th. He is working with the city of Chesterfield to try to save his property and is also getting public donations.
