Hit-and-Run Victim Worked in Chesterfield at Edgewild Winery

Manager: "She was part of the Edgewild family."

"She's a good girl," said Chris LaRocca, manager of Edgewild Restaurant and Winery, in Chesterfield. He was talking about Amber Wood after he learned of her death Friday. Wood, 23, and longtime server at Edgewild, was killed early Friday in a hit-and-run when she crossed Broadway in St. Louis, with friends.  "I lost a child too," LaRocca said Friday afternoon to Chesterfield Patch. Lademann ranked EdgeWild an 8.5 out of 10 in his review on Urbanspoon.  Here’s what other reviewers …

Renovation includes a wine-making room, a barrel room.

Edgewild Restaurant and Winery is expected to open up by the end of the year at the long-empty former Bahama Breeze site, in Chesterfield. It's in Chesterfield Mall parking lot. The Winery is to have a wine-tasting bar, food and music, according to Edgewild's website. There will also be a wine barrel room, and space for 250 patrons. Winemakers from Missouri, California, Oregon and Washington State will supply wine and Edgewild's own label. The Winery secured a liquor license from the city in August, to sell alcohol by the drink, by the container, and on Sundays. The owner of Edgewild is Andy Kohn. Contrary to earlier information, Chandler Hill Vineyards' CEO/Managing Partner Chuck Gillentine said Chandler has no part in the new Edgewild, …
