Wizard Island Band, a brand new group for 2012 at the concert series, is set to perform. Here's what the Chamber says: Join us for a night on the islands! Dress accordingly (with taste!) Experience music from 'fun in the sun' island legends such as Jimmy Buffett, Bob Marley, Paul Simon, James Taylor, and their own Wizard Island …

Robert Cassilly founded the City Museum.
A sculptor and founder of the interactive City Museum in St. Louis has died in Cementland, just north of the city's boundary. Robert Cassilly was pinned by a bulldozer he was operating that tipped over, Monday, on his 54-acre public art property which is a work in progress, according to Wikipedia. Cassilly, 61, created the massive cement butterfly sculpture located in Faust Park, in Chesterfield, in 1999. The butterfly sits near the Butterfly House and tends to awe visitors both young and older on first sight, primarily with its large size. It points the way to the Butterfly House—with little doubt. Cassilly was based in St. Louis and graduated from Fontbonne University with a master's degree in art. He founded the popular hands-on City …

With half the concert series cancelled this summer during a heat wave, Chamber of Commerce hosts last concert as scheduled.
Faust Park's 10-week Concert in the Park series concluded Tuesday with the band Yessir playing to a crowd of 1,200 despite rain earlier in the day. Chesterfield's Chamber of Commerce hosts the series as it has for the past 24 years. The event was apparently the brainchild of the late Chamber President Joanie Schmelig. Schmelig died Aug. 6 at age 70 after nearly three decades of building good will through her work with the Chamber. This year the weather did little to cooperate with hosting the concert series. Of the 10 concerts scheduled, five were cancelled due to weather—four due to excessive, oppressive heat and one because of rain. While this last concert drew 1,200 according to Chamber estimates, the evenings typically may draw twice…
