Vandals Destroy Christmas Inflatables at Chesterfield Home

The suspects struck a collection of decorations on a lawn in the 1800 block of Aston Way.

With only a few days left before Christmas, residents in a Chesterfield neighborhood were the victims of someone or a group of someones decidely lacking in the holiday spirit.  Unlike in Kirkwood where a two-story Santa Claus was passed from lawn to lawn, a collection of Christmas decorations in the yard of a home in the 1800 block of Aston Way were damaged by vandals on the night of Dec. 21.  Chesterfield Police said the perpetrators were likely kids and that the decorations were mostly inflatables.  Related stories:

Grinch Steals Christmas Gifts from Car in Chesterfield Center

The presents were already wrapped and included more than $500 worth of toys.

A thief soured the holidays for one shopper last week when he stole wrapped Christmas gifts from the individual's vehicle.  The incident occurred late at night on Nov. 24 when an unknown suspect damaged a door lock and broke out the window of a vehicle parked near the Chesterfield Mall in the 300 block of E. Chesterfield Center, according to a report in the Chesterfield Police blotter.  The Santa-Claus-in-reverse then entered the vehicle and grapped the presents, which had already been wrapped and were valued at more than $500. Chesterfield Police have no suspects at this time.  More Chesterfield crime stories:
