The micro-brew focused pub is adding another St. Louis location and opening up in Columbia, Mo.
The beer business is booming for Chesterfield-based International Tap House, which recently announced plans for two new locations, one in St. Louis and another in Colubmia, Mo. iTap, as its frequently called, will open at 16 South Euclid AVenue, at the site of the former Loading Zone, according to a post on beer blog Hip Hops. Another blog, STL Hops, reports that is expected to open early next year. The Columbia location is planned for 308 Ninth Street, which is in the heart of the city's downtown and borders the Mizzou campus. That location is aming for an August 2013 opening. Co-owned by Sean Conroy and Brad Lobdell, the bar started out in Chesterfield at 161 Long Road in 2009 and then quickly expanded to Soulard in 2010. Each of the …

Nothing makes a beer lover happier than a choice of 500 beers from 25 countries.
The problem with happy hours is that they start and end too early. Four to six in the afternoon isn't convenient for most people, and if you have to work late, you'll miss it. The Chesterfield location is the original iTap, with the iTap in Soulard added later. The first thing that catches the eye upon entering is the massive …

With a different happy hour seven days a week, there's always something special on tap.
As a food columnist, I generally stay away from chain restaurants. It's not that I don't think they have anything to offer or that the food can't be any good—after all, they became a chain for a reason. But I prefer to spotlight local establishments because if citizens don't support locally owned bars, pubs and restaurants, we will be left with nothing but the chains. It's the local joints that give a city character. But there's room for both, and it's all about variety. It was variety that took me to a chain restaurant this week as I searched for the most appealing happy hour. The variety of beers at Fox and Hound on Chesterfield Airport Road is impressive: 36 beers on tap and 26 bottled beers. True, the International Tap House has 40 …
