Three separate projects are listed as part of the department's Statewide Transportation Improvement Program for 2014-2018.
Frustrated by traffic jams during rush hour as you try to travel past Highway 40/I-6 on Route 141? The Missouri Department of Transportation is hoping to add improvements over the next several years that might alleviate some of the issues. The projects are part of the department’s $700 million Statewide Transportation Improvement Pogram (STIP) for 2014-2018, a draft of which is available online. West Newsmagazine recently reported on the details of the program, which involve three initiatives relative to Route 141. They include building a flyover ramp from southbound Route 141 to eastbound I-44, adding a dual left turn lanes in the eastbound and westbound directions at the I-64 intersection, and putting in auxiliary lanes and turn lanes …

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports its St. Louis work zones for May 16-22.
The Senior PGA golf tournament comes to St. Louis and it will include road closures beginning next week. Route AB (Ladue Road) will be closed between Route 141 and Mason Road from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily from Tuesday, May 21 through Sunday, May 26. Mason Road will also be closed during these same hours and days from West Wailing to Ladue Road. The Missouri Department of Transportation will have lane closures on a few interstates this weekend. Two lanes will be closed on southbound I-170 at Route 180 (St. Charles Rock Road) at 9 p.m. Friday, May 17 to perform preventative maintenance on the I-170 bridge over Route 180. MoDOT opened the westbound Highway 40 exit ramp to Long Road in Chesterfield Monday afternoon.
The westbound Highway 40 exit ramp to Long Road in Chesterfield is now open. The Missouri Department of Transportation reopened the ramp Monday afternoon after it had been closed for approximately two weeks. "Crews performed bridge maintenance work on the 45 year-old structure. This maintenance work was not part of the I-64 Daniel Boone Bridge Missouri River project," MoDOT stated in a news release.

MoDOT's maintenance crews are continuing to work daily on touching up striping on state roads around the region. Drivers should be aware of slow moving maintenance operations on roadways as crews continue to work on putting on a new coat of paint. When drivers see a MoDOT vehicle with flashing lights, they should remember to slow down or move over to avoid the work ahead. Often three or more maintenance vehicles will be spaced out over some distance to complete maintenance work. In St. Louis County, blasting operations on southbound I-270 near Big Bend is scheduled weekdays at 1 p.m., and will continue weekly, weather permitting. Beginning Monday, MoDOT is closing the westbound Highway 40 exit ramp at Long Road for two weeks.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the westbound Interstate 64 exit ramp to Long Road in Chesterfield starting Monday, April 29 at 9 a.m. This is the ramp that goes over I-64 as part of the exit ramp, which will be closed for approximately two weeks. The Missouri Department of Transportation reports on the St. Louis work zones for April 18-24.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the ramp from Pine Street to westbound Interstate 64 at 9 a.m., Thursday as part of the Jefferson Avenue bridge closure. The Jefferson Avenue bridge over I-64 will close on Friday morning at 1 a.m., for approximately three months. Motorists can use Compton Avenue, 18th Street and 14th Street to detour around the closure. MoDOT will close all lanes on I-64 in both directions between Hampton and Jefferson this weekend starting at 8 p.m., Friday. Entrance ramps to eastbound I-64 will be closed from McCausland to Ewing avenues. In addition, entrance ramps to westbound I-64 will be closed from Broadway to Grand avenues.
