The Chesterfield Police Department will give a presentation to the city's health and public safety committee in March, but no immediate legislation to ban the synthetic substance is being proposed.
The Chesterfield City Council is planning to hold a discussion about the emerging threat from a synthetic hallucinogen called “N-Bomb” after a Chesterfield mother came forward about her teenager daughter possibly ingesting the drug by accident at a New Year’s Eve party. At a meeting Jan. 7, Councilman Bob Nation asked that it be placed on the agenda at the next meeting of the council’s health and public safety committee. City Clerk Judy Nagier said it will likely occur in March but a firm date has not yet been set. The St. Louis County Police sent out a warning about the deadly hallucinogen after a West County parent said she believes her daughter may have been slipped N-Bomb at a New Year's Eve party and nearly overdosed.
St. Louis County Police are warning parents and teens about a new sythentic drug called "N-Bomb" that is already responsible for deaths in several states. The name stems from its chemical composition, 2C-I-NBOMe or 25INBOMe, and police say it is a powerful hallucinogen that is a more potent and deadly derivative of mescaline. It has been reportedly responsible for fatal overdoses in California, North Dakota, Minnesota, Lousiana and Virginia. St. Louis County Police said the substance has been purchased undercover in the metro area by drug detectives. A Chesterfield mother spoke at a city council meeting Monday night about a dangerous new synthetic drug called N-Bomb that she believes nearly killed her 15-year-old daughter.
A Chesterfield mom is speaking out about a dangerous new synthetic drug that she said nearly took the life of her daughter during a party on New Year's Eve. Carley B. Alves, a resident of the Baxter Ridge subdivision, described the incident to the Chesterfield City Council at a meeting Monday night. Alves said she learned about the hallucinogenic N-Bomb, a potent, LSD-like substance, after her 15-year-old daughter and high school freshman was brought home from the party in an incoherent state. "Every time she would open her eyes she would see bright lights, so she had to keep her eyes closed," Alves said. "Her perception of sound changed. If you have 15 year kids drinking Everclear and that is acceptable you have much bigger problems than this NBomb stuff. I'd say both the parents of the teen girl and the parents allowing the kids to drink alcohol for starters.   more ›
