'Nutcracker on Ice' Puts Spin on Holiday Favorite

Metro Edge Figure Skating Club members took a holiday classic to the ice for the 8th annual "Nutcracker on Ice" presentation with four performances Dec. 8 and 9 at the Webster Groves ice arena. World figure skating competitor Barbie Long, 16, of St. Louis, joined the show this year as a guest skater, hot off a gold medal win at the Midwest Sectional Championships for Junior Ladies to qualify for Nationals. Also joining the performers was world champion Igor Lisovski, a skating coach in St. Louis and 1981 World and European Pairs Champion.
