Man Attempts to Steal TV, Eludes Police, Arrested in Cahokia

Chesterfield Police said the man sped and weaved in and out of traffic on THF Boulevard and I-64.

A man eluded Chesterfield Police in a high-speed car chase after trying to steal a television from Walmart, only to be arrested later in Cahokia, IL. Darius Dean, 32, of East St. Louis, was charged Nov. 2 with felony stealing and resisting arrest, creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death. Chesterfield Police said Walmart security spotted Dean wheeling a box for a 32-inch screen TV into the store at 100 THF Boulevard at about 3:28 p.m. Nov. 1. The box was empty. He replaced it in the shopping cart with a 47-inch Vizio TV valued at $698 and walked out of the store. Bank Robbery Suspect Held Up Chesterfield Walgreens for Cigarettes, Police Say

Police found the man after he was struck by an ambulance walking along I-44 near I-270.

A man already accused of robbing Reliance Bank in Fenton now faces criminal charges connected to a Chesterfield Walgreens robbery Aug. 15. Joseph Haring, 27, of the 100 block of Sugar Mountain in Fenton, was charged Tuesday with first-degree robbery in connection with the Walgreen incident. He was charged Sept. 12 with second-degree robbery and resisting arrest for an Aug. 29 incident at Reliance Bank. Chesterfield Police said Haring robbed the Walgreens at 917 East Chesterfield Parkway at about 6 p.m. Aug 15. Police said Haring was armed with a knife when he stole cigarette cartons from Walgreens. St. Louis County Police said Haring forcibly stole money from Reliance Bank, 1000 South Highway Drive in Fenton, at about 9:20 a.m. Aug 29. …
