Rockwood Superintendent Bruce Borchers Accepts Tennessee School District Offer

Oak Ridge school board members approved new superintendent contract, according to Tuesday article in Oak Ridge Today newspaper.

Oak Ridge Board of Education directors in Tennessee unanimously approved a four-year contract with Bruce Borchers—currently the Rockwood School District superintendent—in a short, special meeting Monday evening, as published by a reporter for Oak Ridge Today. Borchers' salary reportedly is $178,000 per year, according to the Oak Ridge article. Bob Eby, Oak Ridge school board vice chair said in the article Borchers is slated to start in the new district on June 18. In the same article, Board of Education Chair Keys Fillauer said Borchers had signed the contract before Monday’s 10-minute school board meeting, making it official once the board approved it. Borchers reportedly will receive a basic $50,000 life insurance policy plus a $200,000 …

Rockwood School District Superintendent Bruce Borchers is extended a new job offer in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, starting this June.

Rockwood Superintendent Bruce Borchers Meets Oak Ridge, TN, Residents

As the top candidate among three prospective finalists to become the new superintendent for Oak Ridge School District, Rockwood School District's Bruce Borchers participated in a formal meet-and-greet event Monday morning.

Rockwood School District Superintendent Bruce Borchers just met some of the good people of the Oak Ridge School District in Tennessee, at mid-day Monday during an official community event. Per the news that Patch broke in the St. Louis area, Rockwood's Superintendent Borchers Looks South for Potential New Job, Borchers may take a pay cut and move to a smaller district. The Oak Ridge Board of Education directors are slated to vote on Borchers regarding the new job yet tonight. Borchers and his family reportedly were touring the town as well today, which has an estimated population of 27,000. Rockwood's Superintendent Contract Extended Just as State Audit Results Are Expected

With nearly 22,000 students, Rockwood School District is the largest school district in St. Louis County. News of renewing Superintendent Bruce Borchers' contract comes days before Missouri Auditor's results about Rockwood will be released.

Rockwood School District Board of Education directors voted on Sunday to extend the district's Superintendent Bruce Borchers’ contract through June 30, 2016. The vote was 4-3 for the contract extension, according to a district news release made available Monday afternoon. This board meeting originally would have been held Thursday, but was rescheduled to Sunday, based on inclement weather.
