Renaissance Faire Cancels Student Day Event
With fewer schools registering for the event, parent company Renaissance St. Louis said the decision was necessitated.
Renaissance St. Louis, the parent 501(c)(3) company of the St. Louis Renaissance Faire, has announced on its website that it will not offer a Student Day at this year's event. The Faire is held annually in Wentzville's Rotary Park. Student Day is generally held on a Friday during the Renaissance Faire's run, and school groups are invited to attend an abbreviated festival day with special educational programs in addition to a selection of professional stage acts and merchants and a jousting performance. The organization says that last year's (2011) Student Day had a limited number of school participating because of budget and transportation expenses, and extra snow days added to the schedule.
