Chesterfield: Firefighters Rescue 10; Burn Victim Hospitalized
One firefighter was hospitalized with a shoulder injury.
A 2-alarm fire early Friday at an apartment complex in Chesterfield just off Highway 40/64 Exit 19, started in a ground floor apartment of a 10-unit building, officials said. Monarch Fire Protection crews rescued 10 residents, and evacuated all 21 residents from the building at 1663 Wishwood Court in Schoettler Village Apartments. A person from the apartment where the fire started is in stable condition at an area hospital, with smoke inhalation and burn injuries, according to Monarch Fire Marshal Roger Herin.
