UPDATED: 7:55 p.m.- A heavy load of snow and ice from Thursday's winter storm has canceled school in the West and Central St. Louis County area for another day. UPDATED: 4:20 p.m. Thursday- With winter weather continuing throughout the day Thursday, several area locations are closing early, canceling programs or staying closed for the day. West County Center closed at 2 p.m. Thursday due to the weather. Nordstrom and jcpenney are also closed. Operating hours for Friday, February 22, 2013 are also under review. Flurries remained Thursday morning after cold temperatures kept one-to-three inches of snow on the ground that dropped on Chesterfield and the St. Louis area overnight. End-of-the-year 2011 holidays were unseasonably warm, and did not present any snow for the storied White Christmas effect. But Thursday, Mother Nature turned cold.
