Relive the thrill of the Cardinals' 2011 World Series win through the tweets of fans throughout the season.
Whether you're a serious baseball fan or a data nerd (or both), these clear and colorful graphics of St. Louis tweets about the Cardinals during the 2011 World Series are for you. Infuz, a creative digital agency owned by Jason Fiehler, mined through the hundreds of thousands of tweets about the Cardinals within a 50-mile radius of St. Louis city from Feb. 1, 2011 to Nov. 3, 2011. "By telling the story of the season through the conversations on Twitter we can start to see the living, breathing soul of the Cardinals as seen through the eyes of its fans," said O'Fallon resident Brad Hogenmiller, who oversaw the project as Infuz's director of social media, on the company's blog. "Twitter presents us with a new channel of discussion, not …

Nicole Douglas was one of three double-champions at the event.
The Suburban South Conference track meets were held last week with Kirkwood winning the girls meet and Parkway North winning the boys meet. Kirkwood had three individual champions (Elisa Steele in the 400-meter dash, Hannah Richardson in the 800 and Sarah Viera in the pole vault). There were three double-champions in conference. Parkway North's Amber Alexander won the high jump and triple jump. Chasity Jones of Webster Groves won the shot put and discus and Nicole Douglas of Parkway West won both hurdle events. Her teammate, Katherine Atwood, won the long jump. University City and Rockwood Summit each had two champions. U. City shined in the sprints with Kayla Heidelberg winning the 100 and Erica Murphy the 200. Summit excelled in the …

With a different happy hour seven days a week, there's always something special on tap.
As a food columnist, I generally stay away from chain restaurants. It's not that I don't think they have anything to offer or that the food can't be any good—after all, they became a chain for a reason. But I prefer to spotlight local establishments because if citizens don't support locally owned bars, pubs and restaurants, we will be left with nothing but the chains. It's the local joints that give a city character. But there's room for both, and it's all about variety. It was variety that took me to a chain restaurant this week as I searched for the most appealing happy hour. The variety of beers at Fox and Hound on Chesterfield Airport Road is impressive: 36 beers on tap and 26 bottled beers. True, the International Tap House has 40 …

Doug Gross has expanded from baseball cards into more diverse sports memorabilia.
Chesterfield Baseball Cards and Framing, located in Chesterfield Mall, is stocked with the expected: plenty of baseball cards. There's cards in protective plastic cases and loose cards, autographed cards and non-autographed cards, valuable cards and not-so-valuable cards, rare cards and common cards. But there's much more there, too. There's autographed footballs, baseballs, hockey pucks and bats. There's framed photographs, plaques and art. Three small statues of Albert Pujols, Lou Brock and Stan Musial stand side by side near a goalie mask signed by St. Louis Blues players that stares out from behind glass like the monster in a horror film. The anomaly of a Leave It To Beaver dinner plate and a Garth Brooks-signed CD tell you that there …
