Senior PGA Championship Means Road Closures And No Parking Zones

As the 2013 Senior PGA Championship gets underway this week, Chesterfield drivers may be impacted by road closures and detours as they make their way around West County.

As previously reported by Patch, the Senior PGA Championship takes place at Bellerive Country Club in Town and Country May 21 - 26. Ladue Road will be closed from Mason Road to Highway 141 during the tournament. Spectator parking will be based at the Verizon Amphitheater and shuttled to the course.  The City of Town and Country is reminding residents to be aware and prepare for the road closures this week. MoDOT: Senior PGA Tournament to Close Roads

The Missouri Department of Transportation reports its St. Louis work zones for May 16-22.

The Senior PGA golf tournament comes to St. Louis and it will include road closures beginning next week. Route AB (Ladue Road) will be closed between Route 141 and Mason Road from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily from Tuesday, May 21 through Sunday, May 26. Mason Road will also be closed during these same hours and days from West Wailing to Ladue Road. The Missouri Department of Transportation will have lane closures on a few interstates this weekend. Two lanes will be closed on southbound I-170 at Route 180 (St. Charles Rock Road) at 9 p.m. Friday, May 17 to perform preventative maintenance on the I-170 bridge over Route 180.  Only one lane will remain open on southbound I-170.   In addition, the ramp from southbound I-170 to Route 180 and the ramp…

Highway 40 Exit Ramp at Long Road Open Again

MoDOT opened the westbound Highway 40 exit ramp to Long Road in Chesterfield Monday afternoon.

The westbound Highway 40 exit ramp to Long Road in Chesterfield is now open. The Missouri Department of Transportation reopened the ramp Monday afternoon after it had been closed for approximately two weeks. "Crews performed bridge maintenance work on the 45 year-old structure. This maintenance work was not part of the I-64 Daniel Boone Bridge Missouri River project," MoDOT stated in a news release.

Schnucks' CEO Issues Apology for Credit Card Breach

Scott Schnuck, chairman and CEO of Schnucks, issued a video apology on YouTube.

The Chairman and CEO of Schnucks is apologizing for the attack on it’s credit card payment system. In a video posted to the Schnucks Markets YouTube page Friday, May 10, CEO Scott Schnuck said access was blocked on March 30 and that all new credit and debit cards would not be affected. Schnuck cautions, however, that any cards used before March 30 are still subject to fraud. According to Fox 2 News, Schnucks estimates 2.4 million credit and debit card numbers may have been stolen over a three month period. Three class-action lawsuits have been filed against the grocery chain since the incident occurred, Fox 2 reports.

Parkway, Rockwood Schools Make Newsweek's Top High Schools List

A number of Parkway and Rockwood schools made Newsweek's just released "America's Best High Schools" list.

(For instant news updates follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.) Newsweek just released its "America's Best High Schools" list where it ranks 2,000 public schools across the country. A number of Parkway high schools made the list including, Parkway Central (668), Parkway West (684), Parkway South (697) and Parkway North (889). A number of Rockwood high schools also made the list including Marquette High School (1,000) and Lafayette (357). Among Missouri schools, Lafayette ranked 5th, ranked Parkway Central ranked 9th, Parkway West came in at number 10 and Marquette ranked 17th. Newsweek's list is based on six components: Visit Newsweek for the complete report and to see a complete list of the school rankings.
