Chesterfield eCommerce Company Expanding Headquarters

Cat5, which operates the online retail storefronts sites such as tacticalgear.com and runningshoes.com, is doubling the size of its offices, warehouse and shipping facility.

Business is booming for Chesterfield ecommerce company Cat5, which recently announced that it would be doubling the size of its headquarters.  Located in Chesterfield Valley, the company's will grow its offices, warehouse and shipping facility from 10,000 square feet to 20,000 square feet. Cat5's 40 employees develop and operate 10 niche retail online stores, including runningshoes.com, workboots.com and tacticalgear.com.  The move is in response to growth in sales and staff during the past two years and is aimed at expediting shipping times and expanding product offerings, according to a press release.  "We were fortunate to experience growth even during the downturn," Cat5 CEO Chad Weinman said.  Weinman started the company in 2004 and …

Colorado Gunman's Chesterfield Supply Store Gets Threats, Hostile Comments

TacticalGear.com CEO responds on selling gear to movie theater's alleged shooter.

Nearly a week since a 24-year-old ex-graduate student was accused of spraying with gunfire a packed movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, killing 12 and wounding 58, a Chesterfield business that sold to the alleged gunman copes with a hostile and threatening public. TactialGear.com was faced with notariety shortly after July 20, when it was discovered the alleged gunman, James Holmes, had purchased items from the Chesterfield-based online store.
