A Chesterfield man has been charged with second-degree domestic assault after police said he dragged his girlfriend by the hair and hit her in the face Thursday. Chesterfield Police said it’s not the man’s first act of domestic violence. Police say Mark S. Shepard, 38, of the 14200 block of Rainy Lake Drive in Chesterfield, has been charged with domestic assault 11 times since 2007. He pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree domestic assault in 2008. Chesterfield Police said a witness saw the attack at the couple’s home on Thursday. Shepard’s girlfriend said she didn’t want to prosecute because Shepard would kill her, according to a police report. A Manchester woman is accused of smashing a cocktail glass into a bartender’s face as she was being removed from a bar in Chesterfield. The bartender suffered a broken nose that required a surgery to correct and a large gash that had to be attended to by a plastic surgeon. Chesterfield Police said that a bartender at Smitty’s Food and Drink, 14874 Clayton Road, was attempting to remove Baning from the bar Jan. 29. The Chesterfield Police Department is collaborating with the Rockwood Drug-Free Coalition to provide a means to collect unwanted prescription drugs.
The Rockwood Drug-Free Coalition, local police departments and the Drug Enforcement Administration are teaming up to curb medication abuse and to provide an outlet for the public to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs. The Coalition is collaborating with local police departments to sponsor prescription drug take-back events from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at various locations throughout the area, according to a Coalition news release. Clarification: While initial police reports said the incident occurred at Parkway Central High School, Parkway School District officials have informed Patch that it took place at Parkway West High School. Cars at a high school in the Parkway School District parking lot were the target of a thief last week arrested for raiding the vehicles for cash. Chesterfield Police described the suspect as a 17-year-old student and said he had been charged with larceny. According to police, he was looking in vehicles at that had been left unlocked the property of Parkway West High School the morning of April 10 and then taking any cash he found. Police said a 27-year-old male was intoxicated when he injured another driver in an accident March 30 and then fled from the scene.
A 27-year-old male is being charged with aggravated assault after he caused an accident while allegedly driving drunk in Chesterfield. The accident occurred March 30 at around 1:35 a.m. near the intersection of I-64 westbound and Timberlake Manor Drive, police said, and resulted in injuries for the driver of the other vehicle. The subject then fled from the scene, but he was later located by law enforcement outside of Chesterfield. The Chesterfield Police Department has a special unit created to deal with the kinds of reoccurring arguments among neighbors that may normally be glossed over by law enforcement.
For the Chesterfield Police Department, not all their work is investigating burglaries, thefts or drug possessions, but also occasionally trying to help solve neighborly disputes. On one recent occasion, the police were called in after a victim in the 13000 block of Cantina Drive reported a peace disturbance caused by a barking dog on March 16. Chesterfield Police Officer Michael Ryffel said it was the latest incident in what is a long-running feud between two neighbors. And this is where the COPPS come in. Police are reporting that several valuable items were taken from an apartment complex near Route 141 and Olive Boulevard last week.
One Chesterfield apartment dweller is short some valuable items after a burglary in a complex near Route 141 and Olive Boulevard last week. Police said the thief took a laptop, a guitar case, boxing gloves and plastic bags from a basement storage space on the afternoon of March 5. “Every apartment has its own closet type area that is secured with a lock,” said Chesterfield Police Officer Mike Ryffel. “There was no forced entry so it may have been unlocked or someone had a key.” The victim was at work at the time of the burglary and not present at the apartment complex, which is located in the 600 block of Broadmoor Drive. Loss prevention personnel struggled with the man in the parking lot when he threatened them with using a knife, police said.
A man attempting to shoplift four packages of spark plugs faces first-degree robbery charges after threatening to pull a knife on Walmart security workers, police reported. Brandon Wulf, 24, of the first block of Main Street in Orchard Farm, was charged Thursday with first-degree robbery. Chesterfield Police said Wulf put four packages of spark plugs in his pocket at Walmart, 100 THF Blvd. at about 1:27 p.m. Nov. 27 and left the store without paying. Loss prevention personnel stopped Wulf on the parking lot and he struggled with the Walmart employees, police said.
