A St. Charles woman faces a felony driving while intoxicated charge after being pulled over on Interstate 64 at Boone's Crossing in Chesterfield. Amanda N. Andrew, 31, of the 5400 block of Old Gutermuth Road in St. Charles County, was charged Tuesday with driving while intoxicated as a persistent offender. Andrew has two previous DWI convictions. Chesterfield Police said Andrew was pulled over for driving 76 mph in a 60 mph zone at 3:56 a.m. Aug. 3 on I-64. When talking with Andrew, the officer reported he noticed a strong odor of alcohol and that she had watery and bloodshot eyes. It was the woman's fourth alcohol-related driving charge, Chesterfield Police said.
A woman faces her fourth alcohol-related driving charge since 2006 after being stopped by Chesterfield Police. Gretchen Grothaus, 39, of the first block of Sweet Meadows Lane in Ballwin, was charged Feb. 7 with driving while intoxicated as an aggravated offender, a class C felony. She has three previous convictions involving alcohol-impaired driving. Chesterfield Police said Grothaus was driving June 10 when her car struck a bumper of another car in Chesterfied, but Grothaus did not stop. The other driver reported seeing Grothaus’ car swerving within her lane. An officer pulled Grothaus over near her home and smelled a strong odor of alcohol and saw she had watery and bloodshot eyes. A Macy's department store employee is facing theft charges after Chesterfield police allege she used fake returns to get hundreds of dollars in gift cards. The fraud occurred over the course of several days spanning Feb.14-23, in which a 19-year-old female employee of the Chesterfield Mall retailer rang up fake returns. Police said she then used bogus returns to authorize gift cards for herself. The amount of money stolen exceeded $500, according to the police department’s weekly incident report. Four minors were injured in a car accident over the weekend and one transported to the hospital after their vehicle struck a tree in a Chesterfield neighborhood. Chesterfield Police are investigating the case in which a woman used stolen cards to make charges at Target stores in Chesterfield, St. Charles County and Bridgeton.
Chesterfield Police are looking for a woman who is believed to have used stolen credit cards to buy thousands of dollars’ worth of gift cards and make other charges at Target stores in Chesterfield and throughout the St. Louis area. The suspect is thought to be behind two separate incidents, according to police. The first occurred on Dec. 22, 2012, when an individual eating at a Chesterfield area restaurant had three credit cards stolen from her purse. Chesterfield Lt. Michael Thompson said these cards were later used at the Chesterfield Target store for more than $7,000 in cash advances. The suspect then allegedly struck again on Jan. 12, this time targeting a purse at a salon and grabbing three more credit cards. These were used at …
