Citizen's Committee Donate's 'Comfort Bears' To Chesterfield PD

The Care Bears, made from recycled fabric materials, will be used to help children in stressful or emotional situations.

Sometimes, when you are in a scary situation, all you need is a great big bear hug.

That's the idea behind a donation of stuffed "comfort bear" toys given to the Chesterfield Police Department last week. Chesterfield's Community Services Director Libbey Tucker said the Care Bears will be used to comfort children in stressful or emotional situations.

The Chesterfield Citizens Committee for the Environment, led by co-chair Darcy Capstick, coordinating the project with the help of several regional charities. They presented the bears, which are made out of scrap/remnant materials, to the police department at a meeting last week

"This was the first delivery of many that will be used by various agencies in Chesterfield," Tucker said.
